Wherefore Art Thou Verona

Having watched 'Letters to Juliet' rather recently, I had been dreaming about how beautiful Verona looked! I was therefore super excited to find that this was my first stop in Italy and where I'd meet up with my parents after nearly three months apart! I hadn't really seen much of Italy, having only been twice before; once to Rome, and once skiing in Cervinia.

After a two hour flight from Barcelona, I landed in Bologna. I then had to catch a train to Verona, which was a little bit tricky since I spoke no Italian and it wasn't a touristy train station! I arrived to Verona to find that my parents flight had been delayed so instead of catching a taxi to our hotel, instead I caught a taxi to the airport to wait for them. An hour later they had arrived and we picked up our rental car. Our plan was to drive around the north of Italy for approximately 2 weeks, visiting the lakes, the mountains and Milan.

We had a full day planned for Verona. We planned to visit the main sites include the insanely busy Juliet's balcony! We had also booked tickets in the amphitheatre to watch a show in the evening. No that comfy, but very relaxed and really enjoyable; I think the show lasted 4-5 hours but you were free to leave whenever you had had enough!
