Back To The Cote D'Azur
For those of you that know me personally, you'll know that there's one particular place that I always find myself gravitating back towards when summer approaches, the French Riviera. Before last summer, I'd only been to the typical tourist destinations of St. Tropez, Antibes, Cannes, Nice, Monaco, etc. That was, until I stumbled across Hyeres. For different reasons, I didn't think that I was going to be able to come back this summer, but my plans changed and I found myself with two spare months to head back to my second home.
Days here are spent lazying by the pool, out on the rib exploring the nearby islands, at the beach paddle-boarding or wondering around the dreamy french villages. This 'mode de vie' definitely brings out the best in me and of course, being tanned isn't the worst thing in the world! Not to mention I've also missed the buzz I get from speaking French to the locals, surprising them that I am actually interested in their culture!
Although I'm not here for too long, I'm headed back down this area, a little further east next January. I've got a job working in Cannes for 6 months, but they've already said that they'd prefer me to stay on a bit longer. So you never know, the Cote d'Azur could very much be my next home, and while that's a little terrifying, it's ten times more exciting!
